Good-bye 2012

It's been a busy year-end! Things have been happening left and right, good and sadly, bad too. We've had our fair share of dilemmas and accidents and hospital trips, and all in the last two weeks of december! I guess this is a lot better than the end of the world, right?

Despite the recent misfortunes, the frantic work schedules, and rather distressing year-end activities, we were able to squeeze in some merry-making, family get-togethers, and good ol' holiday cheer! Our family Christmas dinners were still in full swing, and everyone soaked in all the merriment as best as they can! Not even a rough ending like this year's is going to dampen our spirits. Frankly speaking, we've had worse (as in last year's Sendong).

I have high hopes for a better new year. The last bits of negativity and bad luck have come out and are going away along with the old year. It's time for fresh beginnings, new opportunities, and grander dreams. Cheers to a glorious new year!

Summer

I live in a place of endless summers. where beaches are a plenty. where sunglasses, tanks, and flip flops are always in fashion. where ice cream, pearl shakes, and slurpies are must-haves almost everyday ;-)

Treasure Tower

Reused the gems from an old pattern to make this wallpaper. Just not sure if the whole thing is coming together, though.

Happy and Thankful

There's no better way to spend a long weekend than in the company of good friends.
Add lots of good food and loads of laughter (and a good measure of alcohol), and you've got yourself the perfect recipe for good times!

I spent mine in Baguio with some good ol' friends. Needless to say, I had a blast! I returned home with a smile on my face and a smile in my heart (and a headache from the 7-hour bus rides), refreshed and alive after a blastworthy mini-break! And as I looked out of the window of my plane on my flight back to Cagayan, I couldn't help but feel grateful.

Life has been very kind to me. I have been blessed with so much; much more than what others have.

I have friends to laugh with, to share good times with, and to create memories with.
I have the sweetest, most loving boyfriend, who stands as the best of all best friends, who takes the best care of me, and who will be most pleased after reading this, I'm sure.
I have the opportunity to travel back and forth between Manila and Cagayan, for as often as I wish, to spend time with the people I love.
I have the means to go on vacations like this, wherever, whenever, when I know many do not.
And the many other little surprises and bonuses, like the 2 empty seats beside mine. I had the right side of row 26 all to myself!

Yessiree, life is good. And for that, I will always be thankful.

Triangle Pastels

Triangles in soft pastels.

Good color combos are key to a seamless pattern. You don't just pick out a bunch of swatches and throw them in (the way I did initially). It took me the longest time to recolor everything. Each color has to compliment with the ones around it so that they don't compete with each other.
