I had almost forgotten about this. I think I did this last year. I was experimenting on colored pencils and soft pastels, and I remember leaving it unfinished. I still had the neck, eyes, and other details to do, but I gave up on it when I realized that I had drawn the eyes too far apart. Now, after looking at it again,.. I guess it doesn't look too bad.

Get Moving
Amazing, amazing, amaziiiiiingggg! I think my mouth was hanging half open the whole time the first time I watched it. I really need to get back to painting and practice o_0
It's 2am and I'm still wide awake. I've been working on a mock website for my web design class. 3 hours have passed I'm still on the same spot where I first started - header > logo. Sheesh. Now, I'm just browsing through art sites and videos, soaking up on some creativity to get my own to work. It's been a while, and I'm all out of ideas and inspiration. Lately, I've been reading fashion blogs mostly. (See above post.) And clothes have been occupying my mind for the past few weeks! (I'm still wondering why I've never been interested in fashion before now. Am I really this much of a late bloomer?!)
In all fairness, fashion is also art. Pairing polka dots with florals requires quite the creative thinking, too.
Ok..I've gotta get moving..

Birds
My scanner just went ahead scanned each bird separately. I had to scan again so that all 3 of 'em appear in the same page.
I've been meaning to paint this for a while, I just never got to it until now. This reminds me of a painting I did back in 2009. It was inspired by the song Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae. The first line of the song goes.. Three little birds sat on my window, and they told me there's no need to worry.. My work sucked at the time. I never knew how to use paints and colors much. I've been trying to improve ever since.
I think I did ok with this one. The first bird is the prettiest I think. The second one took the longest time, but I had the most fun painting him. I just love the bright blue color. And the third bird took the shortest time. My painting teacher told me that watercolor is the hardest medium to use. Well, it undoubtedly is. But it's the medium that I've had most practice with. I might try oils again sometime. :-)

Chocolove..
Just when I thought that we've finally eaten up all the chocolate that my mom brought home from Russia, my dad pulls out a new bar from the cupboard. Exactly how many bars did my mom bring home? I've lost count. We never seem to run out of them!
Dang it. Why do chocolates have to taste so good? Especially these.. Smooth and creamy dark chocolate with bits of dried fruit and almonds, with just the right hint of sweetness.. They're just too good to resist!
This sweet tooth can be a curse. I'll bet all that chocolate already made their way down the deep and dark crevices of my belly and arms, tucked nice and snug. And I'll be putting on that swim suit in less than 2 months!

Found happiness in Korea ;-)
Still a bit hungover from my vacay in Korea. One blissful week of carefree fun! This trip just made my year :-)
